Building Stronger Foundations for Humanity

Stronger Ground creates events, projects and insights focussed on progressive shifts in our society, economy, industries, and how we relate to the environment, contributing to practical work towards positive change.

Our approach

Building human networks

We bring people together in genuine ways that step out of the usual event box, hosting gatherings that engage people to deeply connect, to let down differences, share ideas and experiences, and think outside of the accepted mould.

Collaborating for social change

We believe if we want a better world, with stronger and healthier foundations, we have to roll up our sleeves and build one. We welcome collaborations towards this shared goal.

Latest Events

Our event series explores positive shifts in our society, economy, and how we relate to our environment, each other, and ourselves, asking the questions: What are the grounded changes humanity needs? How can we amplify their impact and get on a better track?

Developed by Stronger Ground in partnership with a broad range of social enterprises and change makers, this series of gatherings and insights will connect and expand the reach of progressive ideas, building better futures.

Projects

Projects strengthening foundations of life on Earth by backing regenerative ideas, movements, skills and technologies that support better futures for people and the natural world.

Our work sets out to support grounded positive change through repairing and reimagining how humanity lives within the planet’s limits while protecting the diversity of life that helps us survive and thrive.

Field to Foundry

Industrial and chemical carbon feedstocks - raw ingredients like coal, oil, gas and graphite - are responsible for a massive 6% of total global greenhouse emissions. Meanwhile, the world is in an enormous food and post-harvest waste crisis, which contributes around 6% of worldwide greenhouse emissions as well.

Field to Foundry is a circular economy biotech project developing unique technology to convert food wastes into high quality carbon feedstocks for chemical and industrial use.

Our goal is helping to replace the fossil fuel building blocks we use to make most of the chemicals and built materials we depend on as a society, enabling a net zero emissions future.

Us and Them

Public debate today is full of quick, shallow “us versus them” messages that divide people into polarised tribes and oversimplify complex issues.

Us and Them will explore why people disagree so fervently and how we can understand each other better. It will explore big divides like baby boomers and millennials, people of faith and atheists, monogamy and polyamory, or community members who are anti or pro large scale renewable energy zones.

Our project aim is to help people see beyond black-and-white thinking, understand different worldviews, and move from “us versus them” mindsets towards a world that can embrace both “us and them.”
